The Pivotal Group

Growth. That was the motivation behind the Pivotal Group – a sophisticated investment and development company concentrating on high-quality real estate in premier markets. To accommodate its continuing growth, Pivotal moved its corporate office to The Esplanade in Phoenix. Growth had dramatically increased long distance calling. Growth meant the existing telephone system could no longer meet its needs. Pivotal Group had no choice but to look for a new solution.

Like many companies, Pivotal’s search for a new system began in the Yellow Pages. However, after weeks of meetings and hours of investigative work, staff members were no closer to a solution. One of the bidding vendors suggested hiring a consultant to sort things out and referred Pivotal Group to Telecom Advisors Group.

Telecom and Pivotal worked together to develop the specifications for the new system. Telecom collected copies of Pivotal’s local and long distance bills to review and for possible changes prior to the move. Telecom solicited bids from vendors that were not contacted and requested more information from vendors that had already bid. Telecom facilitated demonstrations of new systems from the vendors and helped Pivotal Group select Encompass as its new vendor.

The consultants also reconfigured the company’s local service and renegotiated lower long distance rates from AT&T. When complete, savings in local and long distance costs more that paid for the new telephone system installation. Telecom estimates that the Pivotal Group’s monthly telecommunications costs decreased by more than $2,800. Further, the Pivotal Group is now equipped with the latest technology that will enable additional future growth.
